Vale Council agrees to turn former livestock market site into food retailer

The Vale Council have completed a volte-face, without any public cnsultation, about the change in plan on the future of the Sheep Market area in Cowbridge.

You can check out the article in the Cowbridge Nub News

For what it is worth I believe this decision lacks democratic oversight, is shameful and the attempt to bury such ‘unwelcome news' during the lockdown is not a good look for our Unitary Authority, the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

It is clear from the recent fencing erected on this site shows the council’s intent before the Vale of Gamorgan Council Cabinet made their decision to do a volte-face on their previous decision to rebuild the sheep market, create more elderly homes and a welcome centre for Cowbridge.

Only yesterday I spoke with a resident whose property’s rear entrance abuts the site and he had no knowledge of these changed plans, so much for public consultation.

Well now we know, the greedy people who run our council aren't really concerned about Cowbridge, this is just a big money spinner for them. We now have a labour controlled council who I think deep down really object to Cowbridge & probably also dislike the residents. Where was the public consent to this decision? Methinks the residents whose properties back on to the site will be alarmed to say the least.
